In response to Pope Francis' call to Environmental Stewardship, St. Paul University Surigao launched the Paulinis Program on October 11, 2017.
The activity commenced with a Paraliturgy with a blessing by Sr. Jocelyn Casio, SPC, the Vice President for Christian Formation.
The event also featured games participated by College students in relation to Proper Waste Segregation.
Competitions for the program was also introduced such as the Christmas Tree Making Contest, in which the materials to be used are recyclable materials. Other competitions opened were Electronic Poster Making, Video Making, Photo Contest, Recycled Christmas Tree Making, etc.
It can be remembered that Pope Francis wrote an encyclical entitled "Laudato Si," part of which calls Catholics to care for the environment.
"All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents."
